GOOD NEWS FROM TEXAS -- REUNION | The Dallas Review
I got a great surprise on snail mail this past week, the Texas based journal Reunion | The Dallas Review, a nice "perfect bound" book that features artists working/ed in Texas. Two of my friends, Jenn Kahn and Logan Caldbeck, and myself have our work published in the journal.
The journal features the Dirt/Gold installation titled Au. More on Au here.
Thanks to Leigh Arnold, Art Editor of the publication.
I won't get tired of thanking Aurora Tang for the fabulous photographs she took of Au, the Gold/Dirt installation at the Masonic Lodge in Marfa, TX.
Also, again, thanks to Ballroom Marfa for providing the space + Jeff Fort & Marion Barthelme (Masonic Lodge owner), David Walker (provided the dirt), Dennis Dickinson, Daniel Szwaczkowski (provided the gold nugget) and Rob Crowley.
NAKED INTERIORS (& EXTERIORS TOO) - WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT IT'S THERE

Two recent self-initiated projects I worked on in the past few weeks:
Cabin Fever
During Hurricane Irene, I stayed in my Bushwick apartment for two long days, drinking coffee, reading, writing, and taking photos. This is what came out of that over-caffeinated experience.

134 Majestic
On memorial day weekend I had the opportunity of taking a trip Upstate, to a hidden cabin near the famous town of Monticello, NY. I had more coffee and did more reading and writing than usual, but this time I also enjoyed some outdoor exploration. This place is magical, is 134 Majestic!
Hand lettering was produced for the Majestic logo.

NIP TUCK -- ART & LAW RESIDENCY WEBSITE REDESIGN
After launching the Art & Law Residency website back in May, we realized it was a problematic design. What did I learn, do not try to mimic print on web design, not even a little. Most of the times you have to do some self criticism.
So I decided to redesign the website, and, I can say now, it looks a lot better! Let me know what you think!

FROM THE DESK OF -- 'BRANDSLATION'

Ongoing project of words and images triggered by a collection of happenings in a geographical setting

NEW LIGHT -- COLOR & COLORLESS
A few images from recent concerts in Brooklyn. I concentrated on light before sound, since it's faster.
TAKEN FROM THE TOP -- FLY TYPE
Encounter these all the time while looking for addresses so I decided to make it a little game! The one that get's this first will receive a surprise on the mail! Send me the answer (word; hint: "help") along with your physical address, this one is pretty easy!
If you are curious, this is a satellite view of the Downtown area in El Paso, TX.
SERENDIPITY -- COPIED/PROCESSED/TRANSFERED
Working recently on a project, and while transferring files from one storage device to another , some of the images I was using curiously got distorted. The cause: A broken flash drive, but I call it serendipity!

NEW WEBSITE -- FASHION LAW FOR LAWYERS
We just launched the brand new website for Fashion Law for Lawyers, a new program by Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA). Lot's of exiting things happening at VLA this summer-fall!
Custom hand lettering on the mark for the program and Times New Roman on the website.
I will post more about the identity and the process for this project later.
